Film Workshops

In Term 3 over the last four years the danceLAB dancers have participated in film workshops. The dancers work either in groups creating short video sequences with class and other movement material each week or directed by Dan or one of the dancers. The focus has been on experimenting with different ways to frame and capture movement on camera, using blue screen and chroma key effects and creating new meaning with the two mediums of dance and film. Overall the dancers have come up with many different video experiments that are screened as part of the end of year demonstrations at King St Arts Centre. Below are some of the video experiments from each year.

2009

In 2009 Dan made several video experiments with the students and guest artist Danielle Micich (Former Artistic Director of STEPS Youth Dance Company) also produced some fantastic video work with the students.
